The Institute Homeopathy Accreditation (IHA) is a fresh new dawn of professional homeopathic educational standards, built, reassuringly, upon the vast experience of the past.
The previous dual system of the Society of Homeopaths accredited courses and Quality Assurance Validation Scheme (QAV’s) has been entirely replaced by the Institute Homeopathy Accreditation (IHA).
This is an exciting development for homeopathy in the UK as the profession will now be united behind a common set of high educational standards, independently accredited from the Registers. IHA is the new, and singular body, to administer and deliver the accreditation of homeopathy courses in the UK.
This new accreditation process provides a commitment to the National Occupational Standards (NOS), and to a Core Curriculum (CC), with the agreed education level of a first degree HE Level 6.
Patients deserve a homeopathic healthcare profession that provides competent, highly trained, fully registered, and insured practitioners.
Professionally trained practitioners will have been awarded the industry standard, Licentiate Certificate to Practise, as a Registered Homeopath. These Homeopaths will be successful graduates from homeopathic colleges, that are themselves rigorously assessed, fully accredited by IHA, and therefore adhere to the highest educational teaching standards and a strict code of ethics.
The Institute of Homeopathy Accreditation will henceforth work tirelessly to uphold and enhance the existing high standards of homeopathic education and critically, ensure the safety and quality of patient care. Establishing IHA ensures that we provide a robust system with intrinsic values for colleges and the development of the profession, which attracts students, and produces highly trained professional homeopaths in practice.
Graduates from IHA Accredited colleges are eligible for automatic registration to Alliance of Registered homeopaths (ARH) have the letters MARH and RHom, as well as the Society of Homeopaths (SOH) and have the letters RSHom after their names.
This Institute of Homeopathy Accreditation (IHA) process is not designed for ‘short’ courses in homeopathy. Only courses designed to develop safe and competent professional homeopathic practitioners may enter the accreditation process. When successfully completed this will allow the College to claim full IHA accreditation status.
